Strip rust, paint & coatings
with laser light,
not abrasive.
Laser Strip is a mobile laser cleaning service for rust removal, graffiti removal and stone restoration — pulsed fiber-laser ablation that cleans steel, stone and heritage surfaces back to sound material with no media, no chemicals and no surface damage. Mobile setup, or bring the job to us.
Some of the most common uses for laser cleaning
A fuller breakdown is on the Services page — here's the short list.
Surface cleaning, tuned to the substrate
From rust removal and paint stripping to graffiti removal and stone restoration, power, pulse frequency and scan speed are all adjustable — the same laser handles a light oxide skim or a full coating strip.
Before & after, on camera
Short clips of real jobs — the beam meeting rust, paint or grime and leaving bare, clean material behind.

Laser vs. abrasive vs. chemical
Health & safety risks, and how we manage them
Laser cleaning is often safer than sandblasting or chemical stripping — but only when it's run properly. This is how we keep every job that way.
| Risk | How we minimise it |
|---|---|
| Laser radiation (eyes & skin) |
Our systems are Class 4 fiber lasers — the beam is invisible infrared and can cause serious eye damage before you'd feel a thing. Operators are laser-safety certified, wear eyewear rated to the beam's exact wavelength and power, and control the beam path at all times. The work area is kept clear of untrained bystanders while the laser is live. |
| Airborne dust & fume |
Ablating rust, paint and coatings releases fine particles and fume — what's actually in it depends on the substrate (zinc oxide from galvanised steel, older lead-based paints, etc). We assess the surface before starting, capture particles at the source with local fume extraction, and add respiratory protection for enclosed spaces or heavily coated surfaces. |
| Sparks & heat | Ablation throws off hot sparks and can leave the workpiece hot to the touch. We clear combustible material from the work area, use heat-resistant gloves and flame-resistant clothing, and keep fire control on hand for enclosed or high-risk spaces. |
| Noise | The laser makes a crackling sound during cleaning, on top of normal site noise. Hearing protection is worn on longer or enclosed jobs. |
Our operation is built around Precision Laser Cleaning
Laser Strip runs portable fiber-laser cleaning systems — the same ablation technology used in aerospace, mould-tooling and heritage conservation — brought to everyday rust removal, paint stripping, graffiti removal and stone restoration jobs.
Because the process is non-contact and produces no secondary waste stream, jobs that would otherwise need a sandblast enclosure or a chemical strip-and-neutralise cycle can often be done on-site, indoors, next to equipment that stays running.
We quote hands-on: a short site visit or a set of photos is usually enough to confirm the right power and scan settings before a job starts.
Want your own laser?
If you're weighing up buying a laser cleaning system instead of contracting the work out, we'll talk you through it honestly — including when it doesn't make sense yet.
We run these machines every working day, on everything from light rust to heavy coatings, so we've seen where a laser cleaner earns its keep and where it doesn't. If you're weighing up buying your own rather than contracting the work out, we're happy to talk it through — no obligation, and no pressure to buy anything from us.
That conversation usually covers the power and spec that actually suits your workload (a lot of machines are oversold for what people need), what running costs and servicing really look like day to day, and the safety and training requirements you'll need to have in place before you switch it on.
Get in touch and tell us a bit about what you're trying to clean and how often — we'll give you a straight answer.
